I'm as fussy as the next person, i've a BSC in sound design and electronic music but it's only a game, it cost £14 or so and i've had take outs that are more expensive than it. It's interesting to me that a lot of console racing games have rubbish car sounds as well, it's very hard to capture well. As to the car sounds being fake, so what? It's not as if the cars are real anyways, anyone bought a blind demon or a Speed Ace from your local showroom? The sounds are similar to arcade races of yore, don't concern yourself with it.

Look, you have a good amount of tracks, some nice environmental sounds to boot, it's affordable plus it'll be updated with new features.
For a version 1 game, Rally Racing is very good. These developers are not console game developers, indeed even console games aren't always value for money. GET EXTRA IN-GAME CONTENT WHEN YOU GO WITH THE DELUXE EDITION. It's a little concerning to me the degree of whining that occurs whenever one of these audio games is released. you build your reputation and your dream car and become the ultimate racing icon.

As for the voice in the game, it didn't bother me much. Need for Speed inspired more than 20 sequels and is one of the top racing games of all time, so fans of the series will want to check out the newest installment. if they could improve on the car sounds it'd make things much more realistic. Most racing games I'm familiar with have some kind of steering wheel or other controller associated with it, but of course these guys probably couldn't program that into the game. a great idea but not quite ready for prime time. To me, this game is kind of like some other things. However a new race of monsters have taken their place and JD Fenix, son of series protagonist Marcus Fenix, has taken up the mantle in helping to protect humanity. I'm thinking these guys are probably working on a shoestring budget, which would explain the fake car sounds. Twenty five years have passed since the decimation of the Locust & Lambent threats on the planet Sera. I heard the podcast and I absolutely love the idea of the game, you do get loads of options.
